Children with intellectual disabilities are 4.7 times as likely to be abused and 6.4 times as likely to be sexually abused as other children. The Safe Life Project is dedicated to providing education, self-determination and skill practice to help change this dark reality.

The Safe Life Project curriculum promotes student success by addressing physical, social and emotional well-being of students by teaching self-determination, abuse awareness and personal safety skills to students with developmental disabilities. The materials can also be adapted to other populations of students.
